Gracious God, satisfy me with the nourishment of good food and meaningful words to occupy the empty, waiting spaces of body and soul. May my full mouth and satiated body be the embodied expression of my thanks.
My spoon and plate and bowl and cup overflow with Your goodness. I sense You at work in the sweet and spice, the laughter and longing. While a feast is finite, Your goodness knows no limits, no boundaries, no withholding.
Let me taste of Your Kingdom as I prepare to celebrate and serve others. Saturate the whole of me so that my thanksgiving rises and falls like a song. Let my life sing out with the pleasures of planning and preparation, fellowship and feast.
Lord, delight in the pleasing aroma of our togetherness. Incline Your ear to the timbre of our laughter. Hold dear the complexities of our lives as we carve out time from busy-ness.
Harmonize with our song.
Wishing all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’m grateful for you, dear readers!
